FYI, as noted in your programs, the recording of "Flight of the Bumblebee" is recorded by a wind ensemble with Wynton Marsalis as trumpet soloist. There are no string instruments in this recording.

5  General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Fantasia on: June 18, 2010, 04:48:25 am
I just saw a trailer for a new Disney movie coming out..."Sorcerer's Apprentice." Doesn't Hollywood have any new stories to work with? It seems that everything coming out lately is some re-make or regurgitated nonsense.
6  General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: More Than A Feeling by Boston on: June 18, 2010, 04:45:17 am
I remember going to see them in concert live at the Hollywood Sportatorium...there I go again, dating myself.

Great band. Wish they could have stuck together a little longer to put out a few more albums.
7  General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Prisoners doing Michael Jackson's Thriller lol on: June 18, 2010, 04:35:49 am
In Singapore their method's of "convincing" the prisoners to take part in this might be quite different than in America  Wink   This might be a part of their mandatory daily exercise requirements.

The male prisoner who plays Apollonia, now that's pretty good acting...hahahaha.

9  General Discussion / Pearls Before Breakfast / Re: Pearls Before Breakfast on: June 16, 2010, 09:55:12 am
What I found most interesting is that essentially every child stopped to listen, and in every case, the child was hurried away by an adult. Have we become so callous that we cannot stop for one second to enjoy something that is so beautiful simply because we do not understand it or have we been taught that it is simply unimportant? Inasmuch as electronically reproduced sounds in today's popular music, what will happen when the power goes out? Will we loose the art all-together or will we try to revert back to acoustic music? These are the questions that I think about when I read this story.

Fantastic link! This is just a small sampling of some of his artwork. I forgot about all of the Grateful Dead and Frank Zappa posters. Great find!
12  General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Good Golly Miss Molly by Little Richard on: June 16, 2010, 09:35:38 am
Ouch! That's painful. need to find earlier recordings of Little Richard, before he destroyed his voice.
13  General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Jerry Lee Lewis Interview with 13 year old wife 1958 on: June 16, 2010, 09:32:05 am
The interview is actually a little longer than this but you can see how parents of teens and pre-teens would be appalled by this kind of behavior. Good post!
